Furniture Design

For us, the furniture is considered at the level of the last screw.

SLOT SOFA: MODULAR COFFEE TABLE COUCH

With many people downsizing over the years, concepts like the Slot Sofa and other modular furniture pieces have reigned supreme on the design scene.

This two seater sofa chair comes equipped with a slide out coffee table complete with footrests, leaving room for an extra person on the couch. When it’s in the compact form, the sofa can seat two comfortably with a table placed in between that’s perfect popcorn, drinks, you name it.

SMALL SPACES: URBAN LOLLISOFT  BUNK BEDS

Small space dwellings come with pros and cons. With many not having the extra space for overnight guests, accommodating this issue can become a problem for plenty of people.

These  beds allow you to have multiple guests at once while still saving floor space for the majority of the time.

Cigex Desk

The request was simple: to create a director’s office desk.

Straight lines, pure forms, compact and massive volumes, no apparent fantasy, no draws or handles….The furniture seems to have been carved in a single, monolithic block of wood and seems not to offer any openings.

Yet, against all expectations, the left hand side pillar opens up in a horizontal sliding motion. One space disappears leaving another apparent.  Its absence is underlined by the use of a wood of a lighter hue. Other draws and openings appear where one least expects them.

Eva's bed

The arrival of a second child in a family encourages a young couple to rethink the distribution of bedrooms in a small flat in order to allow each person to have a bit of privacy.

The project responds to this request by dividing a bedroom in two, thanks to a specially conceived piece of furniture which also acts as a separating wall.

This “wall” includes, in its thickness, a bed, a desk and a number of playful passageways. The result is fun to use again and again in a constantly renewed way, with stairs to climb and openings to look out from… Let’s play!

Ursulines Studios

The piece of furniture slides open according to necessary uses: closed, it can be used as a counter; open, it can be used as a ticket booth; the lower parts open up to offer benches and tables for children. It also hides a number of useful little shelves and niches.

All the other services are included in the lateral walls: storage, bookshelves, coffee machine, electrical control board etc. Adults and children can use the furniture according to their needs.

The design is simple and contrasted. The furniture is black tinted medium which slides on a metallic base which is, itself, mobile. All technical equipment (telephone, till, printer etc.) is hidden away to enhance the purity of the playful volume.

Matroshka Furniture

Matroshka is a popular Russian set of wooden dolls placed inside each other. This all-in-one furniture set is inspired by famous dolls. A 4sqm item of furniture houses a study, living room, bedroom and dining room. Four rooms in one occupies less than 15 sqm. It’s a perfect solution for small living spaces that can even gather up to 10 guests around the table. The Matroshka is available in various woods and colors. Besides it’s even flameproof. To install the furniture set you need a floor space of at least 2 x 3.5 metres, but 12 square metres is more preferable

Summer kitchen

We have designed a kitchen where nature and technology are integrated in a symbiotic relationship, processes flow into one another in a natural cycle, efficiently utilizing energy, waste, water and other natural resources. The waste products are used to grow plants.
Drying dishes drip onto plants in terracotta containers.
Food scraps are broken down by worms and the resulting fertiliser used is for the plants.
A double-walled terracotta container acts as a refrigerator, cooling the inside as water evaporates through the outer wall.
